When Wild Animal Attack While the World turns upside down! – Massachusetts Aggressive Turkey’s Trouble – Texas Deer Attacks Men – Steal’s Cigarettes! A Thanksgiving Review

Deer and Turkey - So very Appropriate - image bluejaybarrens.blogspot.com

It’s time for a little levity what with all the tax hikes looming for middle and lower income families should those pesky Bush Tax cuts expire, Union’s Attempting to Strike at Wal-Mart on Black Friday (with little help from actual Wal-Mart workers), the Jet’s taking an historic loss to the Patriots, and families fighting on Thanksgiving over the the 2012 election.

Although, some of this may be connected…

In Massachusetts, there appears to be a problem with wild turkey’s in Brookline, outside Boston. The fabled birds are flying in people’s faces- literally, attacking joggers, and those trying to take photographs. The residents are going to organize a meeting to attempt to deal with the problem – apparently there are only two hunting seasons in Massachusetts, and since this is an urban area, problems arise due to gun laws according to CBS Boston. Massachusetts is the site of the first Thanksgiving and Brookline is an upscale “liberal” neighborhood – Community Organizers against aggressive Turkey’s…there’s something innately right about this report.

In Texas, an aggressive deer charged two men outside of their own home in in Whitehouse, forcing the men to make a run for the safety of their truck. Apparently, the deer became so aggressive, one of the men jumped into the back of the truck – the deer responded by grabbing his cigarettes, and making a snack out of them. In this case, although it took 5 men to restrain the buck (NBS Local the animal was clearly trying to save the man’s life and keep the air free of second hand smoke!

A personal note - Animals have been known to respond to their environment and those humans with whom they live in close proximity. Injecting a little wisdom from my Grandmother – all animals are God’s creatures, for us to care for, learn from and, as God indented, either make the dinner, or a companion. This respect for animals was passed onto my mother (with the exception of the execution of said animals for dinner, (there were grocery stores by that point, and an end to the great depression) who made pets of almost every type of creature that made its way into the yard, the ducklings, the skunks, the squirrels. Those bear, deer, and the occasional rattlesnake, were given the respect of distance. That’s the reason why my three dogs are put on some sort of pedestal! We can derive great peace and a bit of harmony from those who we respect and those that we adopt as part of our family. There’s also nothing more amusing and refreshing than the somewhat silly (although those in the aforementioned deer and turkey reports may not agree) stories (gems) one finds in the press, amid all the doom and gloom of politics, wars, murder, mayhem and simply stress of our daily lives.

Should the Congress and the President not reach an agreement and keep the Bush Tax Cuts (unlikely), then American’s will tighten their belts, and, like the Turkeys of Brookline, take their revenge on all of them in the next two elections. Should the Wal-Mart employees take those Union agitators out to the woodshed and let them have it, as they have a job, and it appears most companies will not be hiring or expanding due to increased government regulations, and then they are also acting like Turkeys. The Jet’s should have taken Tim Tebow, prayers and all, off the bench, taking a hint from the deer, a little praying in New York and New Jersey would not hurt in the least. Finally, when your brother, aunt, sister or mother disagree with you over politics, politely agree to disagree and remember that there will be more elections, and some of those might turn out to please you. Above all, don’t gloat!

2012 Election – What about Voter Fraud? – Did the Democrat Party Steal the Election? Some Conservatives Display Denial in the face of Reality. Op-ed

Yes, Virginia,Voter Fraud Exists but...the Ground Game Trumps - image from motherjones.com

The election is over and President Obama is about to begin his second term, yet there are those that remain unconvinced that GOP Candidate Mitt Romney was defeated fair and square, but that there was some shenanigans afoot. That there is cheating via ballot stuffing, double voting (or triple voting), the Bridgeport, CT voting method of throwing ballots into the bay, busing out of state voters to the polls, and more tricks than a pony can come up with – all verified by 8 X 10 color glossies and hastily buried news reports during the election. That said, in order for the Democrats to have handily defeated Mitt Romney they would have had to come up with at least 5% of the vote total, if the polls were right. Understanding that this was to be a “close election” the fact that the Democrats needing to cheat up to 5% of the total vote makes no sense at all, however, all polls were weighted to the voter totals of the previous election or plus 8 for the Democrats. If one assumes the margin of error at plus or minus three, deducts that from the GOP candidate, then adjusts 8 points for the Democrats, one has a need to “catch up “by 5 points in order to push the Democrat candidate over the top. It would have to be “that” close. Cheating up to 5% is really pushing the envelope – yet, that’s what the Washington Post suggests, the founder of “unskewedpolls.com” believes. So much so that he began a new website regarding voter fraud. The site Barackofraudo.com looks at the swing states where the ballot returns appear to be out of sync. Welcome to Massachusetts.
However, in reality, what is more than likely the case is that the GOP failed to deliver the bodies to the polls. The election is like a chess game, where both parties need to push X amount of voters to the polls, and they need an infrastructure in place in order to do that. The Democrats have this down to a science, and it is on display in Massachusetts, add a little bit of obvious cheating (say 30,000 votes), and there is a one-party lock on the Commonwealth. In order for Republican’s or Libertarians or Tea Party (More on that) to win, they have to change the way in which they deliver voters to the polls.
The theme this year, and in past years, is simply the base is energized, so they’ll get out and vote, yet, and yet, the estimated landslide of evangelical and conservative voters never materialized. It was not as if they weren’t “out there”, they were, in droves, but they never made it to the polls. It is the organization that has been in place by Democrats, and is continually checked and doubled checked, right down to the precinct level, getting people to the polls. Poll watchers check to find out who hasn’t shown up, and has the ability to make a call and someone goes and picks up that extra vote, or extra 10,000 votes. Republican’s, don’t appear to have voting down to a science. Perhaps it’s the emphasis on individual freedoms versus the collective political ideology that appears to get them into trouble, or relying on what appears to be common sense (that’s something that no longer exits). The reason that the President won reelection by, what most would consider, a slim margin, was simply that his party was able to combine cheating and getting out the vote, better than the other party.
There are Democrats who have been totally turned off by the Progressive Socialists who now run my father’s party, and one would think they would be natural Republican’s, but the two-party system, for some people, is so broken beyond compare, that they have gravitated to that all maligned, Tea Party. Go figure. However, that said, some of these individuals one finds, and it’s shocking to say the least, also know how to get out the vote – the problem is, there appears to be a lack of enthusiasm when it comes to actually getting out the vote and working in the precincts. So much better for those Republican's to throw an annual cocktail party –than get in the trenches and troll for likely voters and new party members. It is frustrating, and must be for both sides to work so hard, and come up with nothing, or just above nothing in the vote totals. That frustration aside, (and there is much to be frustrated about in Massachusetts, if one is awake, looks at the legislation pending, follows the Governor ‘s doings, and basically - takes a valium in the hopes of waking up in a more “balanced state. Therefore, unless and until the Republican’s start to act more like Democrats, in the manner of getting out the vote, and getting the grassroots on board. Including those whom the media brands “rightwing”, and is generally dropped out of the GOP program so that the moderate candidate can appear to have distanced themselves from the people who are most likely to get out the vote in the first place.
So, the Democrats did not cheat any more or any less than they have in the past (See my father’s party , which gives insight into how that particular party has worked elections), they just are better organized on the ground. Therefore, if Republican’s want to win a general election – they need to include all voters on their radar, and actively court them, they need to put people in every single precinct, working in the same blocks and neighborhoods as their counterparts. Once that somewhat utopian ground game is in force, then the playing field will be level. It may take years, but, no time like the present to quit your bitching and do something about it. Checkmate.

President Obama Backs Israel’s Right to Defend Itself, Sends Clinton on to Middle East, the Dem Base is Furious – Obama stance more to the Right than the Middle. Analysis

President Obama Defends Israel's Right to Self-Defense - image: bellenews.com

On Sunday, November 18, President Obama took a firm stand on Isreal’s right to defend itself (See Washington Post – Video of Press Conference) Further, the President has sent Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton to the region to visit with Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu and leaders from Egypt and Palestine to attempt diplomacy. However, President Obama placed the blame for the conflict in context, a statement issues by his deputy national security adviser, and suggested that the “crisis was precipitated by Hamas rocket fire from Gaza into Israel.”. (AFP via Google News)

To those in the middle and to the right, that stance is a turning point in viewing Barack Obama’s second term as regards to foreign policy, as more right leaning than left, and has won him kudos from hard-line, non-talking head, conservatives. What has been seen as the President’s base, however, is not at all pleased as they see Israel as the aggressor in the conflict, and as the “Palestinian Cause” is a hot topic on U.S. University Campuses where students are taught to ideals not reality. This has brought about some backlash on blogs and twitter over the President’s support of Israel. (Bloomberg)

Perhaps the President sees through the doctors photographs from the Palestinians (they do need Photoshop lessons), or knows that the Palestinians (back by Iran) are firing rockets into Israeli Civilian neighborhoods from playgrounds and heavily populated areas in the Gaza Strip. Perhaps, just perhaps, the President has seen the rising conflict as out of control and as aggressive towards the west, including the U.S., regardless of Israel’s involvement or not. Perhaps he has recognized we have one ally against those that are bent on world domination through the proliferation of radical Islam, and that ally is Israel.

It is the rhetoric that one must cut through, that deeply ingrained distrust of a man who is, literally, an elected, (or hired) official, who is attempting to do the best that he can. In that vein, one begins to understand that mistakes will be made, and that with a second term, perhaps he would be able to rectify the mistakes. One must also take into consideration that the President’s education and his belief structure may have been under the guise of those same radical elements that are teaching one’s sons and daughters – in other words, he is a victim of the left, no more or no less than one’s children or grandchildren. Perhaps, just perhaps, he is seeing things differently and is going to take the opportunity, not to side with one party or the other, but to do what he sees as the best course, without caring one bit if the stance is left center, or to the right.

What can we watch for, those of us in the middle or to the right, besides the apparent change in attitude (as suggested by all media) of the President’s stance on Israel’s right to self-defense? Perhaps it is the fiscal cliff that looms with no end in sight and a call by some in the administration to just continue to raise the debt ceiling. The Bush Tax cuts expire, and millions of middle and lower income individuals will be pinched by less take home pay, when the economy is still wobbling. One might suggest the President will insist that the tax cuts remain, tell Harry Reid to shut up, and stop stalling and pass a budget, and actually act more like a Tea Party Conservative than the leftist moonbat, elitist, that, for all intents and purposes, has defined the President from the right.

He has the mouthpiece (so far, that may change) of the Media, all of it, and has the ability to shout to the rooftops of the nation that he cannot get either party to move an inch. He may end up being the leader, the CEO, who started out without the credentials or the knowledge, and grew into the position.

Perhaps this is wishful thinking, and most likely one might note that one right move does not negate “Obamacare”, or the Czars, or the long litany of complaints, some reasonable, some not. It is true, that he took the Carter playbook and ran with it, but again, one must look at the educational system in this nation that lauds Carters as a great President – blinded by the type of Progressive Socialist ideology that continues to deny the fall of the Soviet Union.

What if, he sees the forest through the trees, understands that in his last term he has an opportunity to try and fix the mess this has become, and for his children, and all children, the rich and the poor, he changes his stance on everything from taxes to Healthcare, to defending those nations that need defense, while demeaning those that are the true aggressors. What if he is concerned that his legacy will actually end up being like Jimmy Carters? (In the real world, not the world of the College Campus Professors, who spout drivel (and by the by, know they are doing it - as suggested by one professor in particular, who noted that the masses could be controlled by the textbooks written to exclude facts they were not able to handle, as they were not “elite”.). He has access to books, and Historian’s opinions, and news clippings from the past, just as we all do, the President may finally find himself on the side of Reagan!

Then what would those who are partisan to the teeth do?

Final thought, when G.W Bush entered his second term, he was considered by his “base” to be more liberal than they preferred, as time went on, he became overtly “liberal” in his “compassionate conservatism”, creating new spending programs, putting an emphasis and the nations tax dollars into Aids Research, and his relationship with Mexico and the NAFTA agreement, got his face plastered to a Mexican Dollar Bill from those on the right. It’s all perception. When one stands on a side not often perceived as “right” or in the case of President Obama as “left”, and walks – squarely down the middle with some sanity present – they are vilified.

The solution – going backwards rather than forwards.

Our lives should be less about Republican’s and Democrats, and more about what we can do as a nation, as a people, to do what is right, morally right, for the poor, for the homeless, for the working class, for the middle class, rather than just believe in a political party. The political parties were not approved by our founders for good reason. (Read the Federalist Papers) The reasoning that Parties, rather than government would have the control, and the needs of the political party would supersede the needs of the people, corrupted on all sides by men’s natural inclination to turn a Representative position into a powerful position, for themselves, for their party – it is what truly is wrong with this nation. It’s past time, long past time, to hope for a leader that kicks the Party to the Curb, regardless of which Party it might be, and lead as though the Constitution were the only document that mattered, and that the individual was beholden not to a party but to the people, all the people.

Perhaps it is age, advancing rapidly, that allows for recall of a time when, regardless of Democrat or Republican, a President was, in truth, all the people’s President, even if they were Democrat, Republican, it mattered not. What mattered are a people united for one cause, or another, and concerned with helping one another, joined by a leader who understood that all constituents were just that. It was a time of naiveté perhaps, but holding President up to esteem, rather than glorification, was the norm.

One might hear that it is far too late, to make any changes, now, and that the United States is on a course of decline, as the middle class is destroyed, and those who do not want nor care to work, want “free stuff”, while the educators preach politics rather than math or science – there is, in effect, no turning back.

One can also disagree, and do whatever one can to right the wrong that one’s children have been taught, or to educate themselves or reeducate themselves away from those Progressives who teach a class system. They are the problem, and a serious problem, fanatics who turn out teachers, doctors, lawyers, and politician’s, all believing that on the basis of a 4 year or better degree, they are suddenly “elite”, that those blue collar workers, are beneath them, and those that do not have a job or are blue collar – are the “masses” who are not entitled to, nor able to, hear or understand the “truth”. That is the problem, the fact that our children and their teachers (or anyone who was educated after 1970) are endangered by this progressive system, and being denied access to a full education and the ability to become anyone. Fire them, and replace them with individuals who are able to teach the subject at hand, regardless of what that subject may be. Fire the unions, which are driven more by political power and the Progressive think than the Professors themselves. Imagine a classroom where basics are taught, along with respect, and every student understands that they have the ability to become anything they choose, even the President of the United States.

On The Class System:
“In Robert E. Weir’s, “Class In America , the so-called American Class system is discussed in detail – from the First Estate (Mayflower Decedents, regardless of wealth) to the Second Estate (the Robber Barons’), families that garnered great wealth and influence in the United States during the late 18th and 19th century (Included: familiar names such as Roosevelt, Carnegie and Kennedy), followed by the Upper Middle Class (the elite who have amassed large sums of money), the Middle Class (those who hold a 4 year college degree and therefore, can consider themselves to be “elite”), the Lower Middle Class (those who do not hold a four-year degree – and are considered “blue collar workers”), the Lower Class (those with no discernible education and/or skills). The later two often referred to as “the masses”. Outside of the halls of “higher education”, this is not discussed in detail, or brought up at all. (The "masses" could not "handle the knowledge") The “fact” that this nonsense of a "ruling class”, made up of individuals such as the Kennedy’s, is preached at a Colleges and Universities across the nation by those Progressive professors who are wedded the theories of Karl Marx and company, boggles the mind. It follows, therefore, that this “theory” allows for a certain sense of “entitlement” from those who are members of an “upper class”, and the certainty of those “newly minted elite” who have been taught (and bought into the bunk) that this nonsense of class systems is “acceptable”.

Mass. Public Employees- Your Tax Dollars at Work? – The “Costly Loopholes” that allow Public Employees to Collect Unemployment – Even Amherst Has Issues!!!

From Gov. Deval Patrick's task force - the Total Charges for Unemployment paid out by Cities and Towns for Public Employees from 2005 to August 2012 -image from PDF Task force at Mass.gov.

There were reports from the Boston Herald back on March 7th 2012, titled: “Official: Public workers’ questionable jobless benefits add up” - speaking to municipalities who must pay public employees, including temporary election officials unemployment benefits, which come out of the Town or City’s tax revenues. The article and letters from twenty six towns got the attention of Governor Deval Patrick, who got a task force going to find out the scope of the problem and recommend changes.

The task force and the Governor are now “promising to close the costly loopholes that allow public employees to collect unemployment benefits while also drawing a paycheck form the city or town they work for! according to the Lowell Sun. November 16, 2012. Those on the task force included: State Labor Secretary Joanne Goldstein, Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll, Newton Mayor Setti Warren, state Sen. Dan Wolf, D-Harwich, state Rep. David Torrisi, D-North Andover, Massachusetts Taxpayers Association President Michael Widmer, retired Appeals Court judge Raya Dreben, Massachusetts Teachers Association President Paul Toner and Massachusetts AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Jennifer Springer. The Tax force was addressing the following classifications that are currently eligible to receive Unemployment (and will be until the legislature address the issue): Public employees with pensions of $53,920, who return to work, earn salary up to 900 plus hours, then quit, and collect UIC, Teachers who collect UIC while being paid by the municipality, School Bus Drivers and Crossing Guards who count every day, including Black Friday toward UIC, and the “kicker” – Election Officials, who list their “stipend” (for working the election) on UIC claims.

The Task force concluded, after reviewing claims from 2002 forward, that it was a small percentage of the workforce that was taking advantage of loopholes, although when one reviews the report submitted by the task force it is a real eye-opener. What is most surprising is that only 26 of the Commonwealth’s Cities and Towns expressed a desire to halt the practice and those Cities and Towns were reviewed. When one reads the report available here at mass.gov, in PDF one finds that the towns in 2012 (through August) had a total of $32,016,151.32 in Unemployment Claims “charged” by public employees.(Page 89 of 102)

Now it is understandable if someone is collecting a small pension, is over 65 and working part time, that they may not be able to meet expenses, considering inflation of food and fuel (which is not counted by the Federal Government as it is considered “too volatile”.) Therefore, if someone has a pension of $35,000 annually and is not eligible for Social Security compensation (as is the case for most government employees – in some cases they are eligible but for a smaller percentage of their overall SSI benefits, which, are reduced even if that individual worked thirty years outside of the Federal Government) they should, if working full time, and find themselves laid off, be able to collect unemployment. That said, if someone is making a decent pension, then working in their previous field to fill a “need” by the government, that additional salary should be considered a bonus.

The fact that election officials, those who work the week of an election, are collecting unemployment insurance based on $1,000 in stipends, boggles the mind. $32,016,511.32 in unemployment claims filed by public employees in all Massachusetts towns and hamlets, for half of 2012 – while most homeowners and taxpayers that are left in said communities are having problems buying hamburger at the grocery store leaves one without words.(Almost)

It is not that teachers, or safety workers, or school bus drivers, or crossing guards are intentionally bilking you and yours, it’s a law that allows this to happen. Add to that the fact that due to the Federal Government extending unemployment insurance for years, and what’s a public employee to do? They follow the law and collect. (That’s sarcasm in case one is interested.) One would think that teachers, especially, would be smart enough or moral enough to understand they get three months of paid vacation (summer), in which they can work part time if they choose. Apparently not. The fore, first the city or town kicks in (because they have to) according to state law, then they have to kick in further, due to Federal Laws. Is it any wonder our cities are broke? Is it any wonder in some cities and towns they cannot afford to give the students “text books” due to the expense? Perhaps the aforementioned resolves the questions as to why our students are so - uneducated.
